Vegan Chocolate Mousse

Updated: Oct 5, 2020

Fluffy, smooth and sweet chocolate mousse made with aquafaba!

I am so excited to share one of my few vegan dessert recipes with you. Ever since being a part time vegan, I have had hard time in the dessert department, but I was lucky enough to have found the power of aquafaba a.k.a chickpea water! Apparently chickpea water has the same protein compounds found in egg whites, which is great because this dessert recipe only require a few ingredients.

Vegan Chocolate Mousse

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes (not including refrigerating time)

Servings: 4 servings

  • 1 cup of aquafaba (from a can of low-sodium chickpeas )

  • 140 g dark (70% cacao) vegan chocolate

  • 2 tbsp white sugar

  1. Melt chocolate over water bath, stirring until smooth. Set aside to rest.

  2. Whip aquafaba with a hand held electric mixer with sugar until hard peak forms.About 3-5 minutes.

  3. Pour the melted chocolate into the foam. Make sure to crape down the sides of the bowl to make sure the melted chocolate gets evenly incorporated.

  4. Evenly portion out into 4 serving bowls and let the mousse chill for at least an hour in the fridge before serving.

  5. Serve with fruit, shaved chocolate or dairy free whip cream.
